Our Vision and Principles

Mainstream Democrats support fiscal responsibility. Our government should be lean, not mean. We insist on an efficient and accountable government, which provides a dollar's worth of services for each dollar of taxes.

 Florida's government should help hard-working people who play by the rules. In turn, citizens should take personal responsibility in the running of our federal, state and local governments.

The American flag is the symbol of our great country! Mainstream Democrats support patriotism. We are proud of our veterans and all of our men and women who serve and have served in our armed forces, either on active duty or on reserve status.

 Government should focus on issues that matter to Florida's working families.

 Faith and moral conviction are the centerpiece of our families and our communities. Mainstream Democrats understand that people of faith make vital contributions to our communities and our quality of life. 

Platform

 Education  

All Floridians should have access to a state-wide quality system of free public schools and reasonably-priced quality higher education. Schools and all government programs must be accountable. Education is the best workforce development in the state. 

Economy 

Government should encourage business and workforce development to create a healthy economy and foster job creation. Small businesses are the backbone of Florida's economy and must be supported. Florida's jobs should stay in Florida and not be exported! Our tax and economic policies should be fair to all. Government should focus its efforts on the middle class and poor. We cannot have two Floridas , one for the very wealthy and one for the rest of us. 

Healthcare and Insurance 

All Floridians should have access to quality and affordable healthcare! Homeowners must have access to reasonably-priced insurance. Businesses and workers must have access to affordable-quality workers' compensation insurance. We should have access to affordable auto insurance. 

Environment 

We must preserve a clean, healthy environment. Floridians should have access to quality water supplies, which should not be moved from one part of the State to another. It is important to support our agricultural community, one of the largest components of Florida's economic base. Mainstream Democrats respect private property rights.  

Public Safety and the Judiciary  

Homeland security begins with security in our homes and on our streets. Mainstream Democrats support a fair, efficient and non-political court and justice system. Mainstream Democrats support our brave police officers and firefighters. Mainstream Democrats support responsible gun ownership.
